Sophie Breslin B Eng (Hons)
Hi! I’m a mechanical engineer and Lean Six Sigma Black Belt who loves problem-solving and design.
I studied on the very first Engineering Systems Design (ESD) degree course at South Bank University, which was designed to produce engineers who could support automated environments. I’ve stacked multiple layers of LSS training from Catalyst Consulting on top of ESD and have 25 years’ experience in industry. Clients have ranged from high-profile household names to SMEs, predominantly in manufacturing, retail, automotive and logistics, around the world.
Outside work I have been involved with fundraising for ActionAid and helped hands-on with two builds in Kenya and Mozambique. I support educating women out of poverty and women in engineering, and also coach young people. I enjoy anything to do with design and build (from dress-making to kitchens and extensions), learning new information and working with passionate people.
I support ambition
I’ve always supported ambition and growth. Historically this has largely been for plcs – when a project installation hasn’t gone to plan or automation has been outgrown and needs to be expanded – typically working against the clock, the budget.
Now I’m looking to take 25 years’ experience and use it to help ambitious SME’s get ready for the automation they need to move them to their next level.
